Welcome to The Spaghetti Budget!

I love spaghetti. I also love finding great deals. I will admit that it has become somewhat of an obsession. Living well on a budget IS possible, and you don't have to eat spaghetti every night to do it (unless you WANT to!) If you're interested in saving money, using what you have, and living simply in the West Michigan area, you're in the right place!

Black Friday Shopping, The Easy Way

I know a lot of you might be really looking forward to scoring some awesome deals on big ticket items this Thanksgiving shopping season. Personally, I would rather pay more for a big screen tv than deal with the people and lines during Black Friday shopping. So instead of focusing on what store has the best price on the newest tablet, Blu Ray player or laptop, I focus on some of the smaller stores and the awesome every day item deals they have during their Thanksgiving sales.

Stores I won't step foot in on Black Friday:
  • Walmart
  • Best Buy
  • Target
  • Meijer
Stores I plan on shopping at:
  • Rite-Aid
  • Walgreens
  • CVS
The thing that I like about some Thanksgiving ads is that their deals start on Thursday, or go until Saturday. Not that I plan on spending my Thanksgiving day in stores, but if I wanted to stop somewhere on our way from one dinner to another, I could. And instead of having to venture out at 3 a.m. Friday, I can go later in the day, or go Saturday morning to avoid the crazies. I'm going to try to highlight some of the best deals at the lesser-traveled stores this BF season. Note that if I show deals at one of my "won't step foot in" stores, it must be either a deal of the century, or it must be on sale during the not so crazy times and days. Stay tuned for some match-ups!
